I lived in Sheerness as a child and have many happy memories of that time. My father (Alan Lawson) used to manage the Fish and Chip shop in Clyde Street (1950's)where we also lived. My Nan(May Lawson) came originally from Blue Town but then lived in New Street (1950's)and I have various relations still living in the area. My Nans first husband is mentioned on the war memorial WWI (Charles Robert Wells) we don't know what happened to her second one (Joseph Andrew Lawson) she seems to have lost him somewhere! She then lived with Harry Orwin - any one remember or have any info on any of this? I went to St Edwards RC School on New Road, and used to play with my cousins in the air raid shelters and and and the "rubber Ball" factory over Blue Town way - thats when were wern't messing about down the beach.... I now live in Wales and doing family history research.
