We have managed to trace most of the residents of the cottage since it was built. We have used census returns, electoral registers and local directories. However in the early days many of the records were known to be inaccurate or inconsistent as th e residents filled the forms themselves in many cases. In others they could not write and sometimes the enumerators were in a hurry. 1841 James Brenchley age75 retired shipwright born Sheerness.
